Staff Accountant

D. H. Scott & Company, the largest and most progressive firm in far northern California, is seeking a Staff Accountant for a full-time position to perform assurance and tax projects.   • Bachelor’s degree, with enough credits qualifying the candidate to sit for the CPA exam, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Experience in public accounting is preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), knowledge in QuickBooks and UltraTax a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and proven experience performing projects and meeting reporting deadlines
  • Effective professional communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary and non-profit tax returns
  • Provide accounting and bookkeeping services to clients including such things as determining required adjusting journal entries and calculating depreciation
  • Perform compilation, review and audit services for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
